Handmade Christmas Gifts!

I can finally share with you the handmade gifts I made for Christmas this year!  I love making something for my kids and they still love receiving something hand made from me each year too.  So for my daughter I made her two things – the first is this Frozen handbag.

This is made from a Natalie Ross pattern called ‘Lucys Ladybird Adventure’.  I left our the applique and used this beautiful sparkly Frozen fabric I found at Riviera Patchwork.  I love the sparkly button I found for the front too – I think it just finishes it off nicely.  My daughter loves it.

The other gift I made her was this Blue Fairy Doll.  The pattern is by Paloma Rocha from Noia Land Patterns.

This was a cute little hand sewn project made entirely out of felt.  I used a lovely glitter felt for the wings which I found from Rose Petal Collections.   This was a great pattern – easy to follow and lots of diagrams too.  You should definitely check out her Etsy store - Noia Land Patterns - she has some really cute designs.

I wanted to make something from Star Wars for my son for Christmas this year and so I ended up making him this Chewbacca softie.  I just made up the design after being inspired by a few things I found on Pinterest.  I think he looks like Chewbacca and most importantly my son thought so too!

For the kids teachers this year I made them these Scrappy Apples.

The pattern is by Retro Mama and I loved this design!  I love the shape and the clever way you made it too.  A great pattern with excellent instructions and lots of step by step photos.

The last gift I made was for a KK swap.  This Tiny Gingerbread House ornament pattern is by Gingermelon.

Another cute very tiny hand sewn project made from felt (it fits in the palm of your hand!).  I also used the glitter felt on the roof of this too.  A very cute little design – you definitely have to check out her Etsy shop too – an overload of cuteness there!

Christmas Decorations Roundup

Christmas is just around the corner now – only 23 days to go!  We just put up our Christmas tree and decorations yesterday and so now the kids are getting super excited about Christmas.  It’s a lovely time of year and I always love making things for Christmas.  I normally make a new Christmas decoration for the tree each year too.  So I thought I’d share a few patterns I’ve found lately for Christmas decorations.  I’m making up the Festive Felties by Molly and Mama at the moment – which were part of One Thimble issue 9 – you can also purchase the pattern separately from One Thimble too.
